Thursday April 13 saw us at Hyponik head out in full force to Brixton’s Reprezent Radio, marking the second edition of a monthly residency on the broadcasting station, this time with a guest mix from Local Action’s Sim Hutchins.
Every second Thursday of each month sees us take over 107.3’s airwaves for a two hour dose of the most exciting and innovative music we can get our hands on, unbounded by genre and throwing spotlight on a number of rising producers we feel are making exciting movements across the scene.
This week we were joined by Hyponik day one Sim Hutchins, the UK producer and video artist who has previously released records on the likes on No Pain In Pop and Lee Gamble’s UIQ imprint.
His most recent effort, Clubeighteen2thirty, explores his rave nostalgia through a cloud of smoke. Sim describes the record as “about the good times, and the bad. It’s remembering fondly – through rose-tinted shutter shades – the hazy nights of kaleidoscopic sounds, and reliving the traumatic ones on the comedown of your life.”
Heat from Commodo, J Tijn, Skee Mask, Alex Coulton, Lil Jabba, Alex Coulton, Yoshinori Hayashi, Inga Mauer, Hi and Saberhagen, Varg, RGL, Frankie Reyes, Troy Gunner, Pinch, Bantam Lions, Agrippa, Patricia, Sleeper Cell and more.
Clubeighteen2thirty is out now on Local Action.
