Hyponik will host Djrum, Slimzee, and Congi at Nottingham’s Lacehouse.
After unveiling a stunning musical programme, Wigflex Festival reveals full details of well-being, art and stage breakdown for their first edition, with Max Cooper, rRoxymore, Machine Woman, CCL and Shannen SP of Hyperdub also added the bill.
The boundary pushing festival will utilise over fifteen of Nottingham’s most innovative and unique spaces, filling them with a varied selection of workshops, panels and art installations, some lasting beyond the festival, with the aspiration that the event can leave a positive legacy within the community.
Points of topic throughout the weekend will include talks on ‘Women In Music’, ‘Manufacturing Authenticity’, ‘Mental Health & Music’, ‘Conversations About Consent & Club Culture’ and ‘A Retrospective On Soundsystem & Pirate Radio Culture’. There will also be an exclusive ‘Future Bubblers’ talk on developing new talent with Gilles Peterson, a FourFourDJ and production Academy open to the whole community, and the launch of ‘Wigflex Studios’.
The stage breakdown sees fourteen spaces across the city be utilised, with purpose-built interactive art installations in each of them. See the breakdown in full below, and look out for our own takeover at Nottingham’s Lacehouse, where he host Djrum, DJ Slimzee, Congi, Jim Perspective and Poach.
