January 2015 saw the closure of revered Amsterdam club Trouw…
Although the lifespan of Trouw was always in sight, the 24hr licence made the nights seem limitless. Over its brief stint, Trouw hosted some huge nights and saw the likes of Joris Voorn, Ostgut Ton and Tom Trago play sets extending far into the morning hours and into the next day.
But as one door closes, another one opens as the masterminds behind Trouw announce an official start date for their new temporary venue ‘De School’, set to open its doors on Sunday 3rd January 2016 and will be open 7 days a week for the next five years only.
De School is a 500 capacity venue on the grounds of the former Each Land College in Amsterdam’s West district. In a similar fashion to its predecessor, De School will serve as a club, music venue, cafe, restaurant and exhibition space for the people of Amsterdam. The club has also been granted a 24hr licence and has already lined up the likes of Dekmantel Soundsystem, Shanti Celeste, DJ Sotofett, Barnt, Seth Troxler, Young Marco and many others to play over the next few months.
