German photographer Bernd Jonkmanns is publishing a photobook celebrating record store culture.
Last summer, we reported the launch of photographer Eilon Paz’s Dust & Grooves book – this month sees the launch of a similar project by German photographer Bernd Jonkmanns. Record Stores is a 400-page photobook featuring over 500 high-quality images of vinyl shops and customers around the globe.
Jonkmanns travelled to 35 cities in 5 continents to capture the decline and resurgence of vinyl culture over its 65-year history. The book has been six years in the making, and having already met its $7500 target as funded by fans in two weeks, will become available in September.
Books are priced at €49/$59 plus delivery, with signed copies and various deluxe editions also available.
