Peckham Rye Music Festival announces first wave of artists

Peckham Rye Music Festival is a new multi venue 3 day event, taking place 13-15 May.

The festival is a celebration of the local music scene, and aims to bring together Peckham’s varied artists, labels and record shops as well as curating some bigger headline acts.

Now the first wave of artists has been announced, and there’s some real treats in there. Swamp 81 beatmaker Mickey Pearce brings his distinctive sound to SE15, while Wbeeza’s set is sure to incorporate an especially wide spectrum of selections.

Radio 1 DJ Benji B is also on the lineup, as are MM/KM, a collaborative project between Mix Mup (who runs the Trilogy Tapes label) and Leipzig house supremo Kassem Mosse.

Other confirmed artists include Leif, Bass Clef, Charlie Bones and West Norwood Cassette Library. Venues already announced include the Bussey Building, The Nines, Rye Wax and Canavan’s Pool Club, with more to follow.

On the Friday, the festival are working with CDR to organise free music production workshops and seminars for local young people, with involvement from artists on the line-up.
