Henry Wu, Steve Spacek and DJ Pierre come to Hackney’s Night Tales

Read on to get free tickets to the best parties happening over Night Tales’ Halloween period.

Hidden amongst the arches beneath Hackney Central station nestles Night Tales, the bar and club offering punters the choice of classy cocktails alongside cutting edge dance music. Housing East London’s largest outdoor terrace at 4000 sq ft, Night Tales is fast becoming one of the capital’s premier venues despite it’s brief existence.

2019 has been another sterling year for the Night Tales team – unbeatable programming across the spectrum of club culture has seen events from Martyn & Nick Hoppner to Coki & Zed Bias, and as the year begins to draw to a close we shine a light on the Hackney venue’s spooky Halloween celebrations.

Trick or treat? I hear you ask. Well, here at Hyponik we want to give you the latter in preparation for what’s to come. We’re giving out a limited number of FREE tickets to each of the four events taking place over the Halloween period at Night Tales, meaning the only decision you’ll need to make is choosing which stellar lineup you want to see.

Two artists that don’t really need much of an introduction. Kamaal Williams aka Henry Wu is responsible for some of South London’s finest muscial output in recent years. With a contemporary approach to soul and jazz, Wu finds himself at the epicentre of re-burgeoning movement. Where Henry Wu is in the early stage of crafting his own legacy, Steve Spacek has already solidified his. Not defined by genre, Spacek has an ear for groove, melody and swing, with a rich discography of solo material, side projects and concept pieces.

Celebrating the launch of his new DJ Kicks mix, Wu will also be accompanied by London producer Wbeeza and Marshmello on the night.

This night promises good vibes only.

Hyp favourites and Sligo party starters Brame and Hamo grace Night Tales with their presence assuring their meteoric rise to the top doesn’t show any sign of slowing. With their earlier productions occupying the jazzier side of house, the duo have recently began to perfect a harsher side to their sound – making anthemic techno bangers for peak time. They’re joined by Sweden’s Dorisburg, who’s deep and percussive rhythms will be sure to cloak Hackney’s arches in Halloween black.

Fri 1st November: DJ PIERRE – From Acid To Jack

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without the squelch of acid. Pioneer of the scene, DJ Pierre locks in for an ghoulish session of stripped back sounds, and a lesson in all things acid house. The former Head of A&R for Strictly Rhythm and Phuture member is responsbible for some of dance music’s most iconic melodies and will be flying the flag for Chicago on the 1st. Jozef K will warm things up on the night, celebrating his new release on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth with a textbook fusion of groovy house and bodyrocking club fodder.

Tickets can be found here.

Anyone familiar with the Bicep boys will already know of Rory Hamilton aka Hammer and his euphoric synth line wonders. He first arrived on the scene back in 2015 with Dahlia, the collaborative effort with Bicep – a soft melodic foray into utopian house soundscapes. Since then Hammer has released on Loft, Optimo and Sulta Selects Silver Service, making him the obvious choice for anyone looking for hands-in-the-air feel good selections this Halloween. Propping up the lineup will be German producer Luca Lozano, whose infectious breakbeat and lo-fi techno will provide ample contrast to Hammer’s shimmer.
