This Thursday, Fabric plays host to the London leg of the RBMA events series: Diggin’ in the Carts in collaboration with Hyperdub.
Taken from the web documentary of the same name, Diggin’ in the Carts is a celebration of rare 8 and 16-bit Japanese game music and the influence it has had worldwide on contemporary club sounds.
The event will be a multi-faceted audio and visual performance from two of Japan’s most celebrated video game composers responsible for the soundtracks of classic games such as Streets of Rage on the Sega Genesis, Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima.
Also on the bill is Hyperdub boss Kode 9, who’s performance will be accompanied by visuals from legendary Japanese animator, Koji Morimoto.
As was the case with the LA leg of the tour including Ryan Hemsworth and the Tokyo leg with Chip Tanaka, Hyperdub’s Ikonika and grime tastemaker Grandmixxer will be performing specially curated sets paying homage to the genre’s rich history and the influence it has had on their sound.
