The London based imprint’s first full length record will land this month
Lobster Theremin is about to issue it’s eight record and first LP in the form of a self-titled, double album from windy city native Chicago Jim. Written and recorded whilst the mysterious artist also known as Space Jim was studying forestry in Vancouver using Roland Tr808, Tr707, Juno 106, MicroKorg, MC202, MPC2000XL Jim originally self-released the record on cassette tape in 2012 before the label discovered it and tapped him for a vinyl release.
The LP is reflective towards the hayday of Chicago House in the early nineties. The label has compared the album to Larry Heard’s classic ‘Alien’ score and described it as “sounds culled from lost DATs, forgotten tapes, lost to the wind in a faraway city where music is the answer.”
Lobster Theremin will release ‘Chicago Jim’ on October 30th, 2014.
