Ben Westbeech and Kon go back to their roots in the latest WeTalkMusic

Thris Tian links up with the duo ahead of their new project.

Following past discussions with Anderson .Paak and Ge-ology, Julia Holter, and Bonobo, WeTransfer have released the latest instalment in their WeTalkMusic podcast series.

For the fourth edition, Boiler Room’s Thris Tian sat down in Amsterdam with veteran UK producer Ben Westbeech and remix maestro DJ Kon, who are currently in the midst of a long-awaited collaboration.

Now residing in Amsterdam after having spent much of his career in Bristol, Ben Westbeech is one of the UK’s best recognised producers under the alias of Breach.

DJ Kon, having been hailed by Gilles Peterson as the “edit/rework king of 2011”,  is a cornerstone of Boston’s music scene, having come up as a b-boy and graffiti artist, before becoming one of the city’s best recognised producers.

Across the breadth of the show they discuss crate digging for records, sun drenched holidays in the US, and transatlantic cross-pollination.

Westbeech and DJ Kon also spin a selection of tracks accompanying the discussion – you’ll hear everything from Snoop Dogg, LTJ Bukem, Run DMC and Donna Summer. There’s also a teaser of the upcoming Kon and Ben Westbeech collaboration. Listen in full below.
