Starting off your week with an hour of upfront Grime pressure is Bristolian whippersnapper Lemzly Dale. Part of the seemingly endless roll call of bass focused producers from his West Country hometown, Lemzly Dale is a newcomer to Grime’s recent renaissance. Well received releases on his own Sector 7 imprint and Mixclique Records have pinballed between purple heavy, Joker aping synth magic, classic violin samples and treated bass vibrations, finding a nice mid-ground between respecting tradition and blazing new trails.
Here on Hyp 166, Lemzly Dale continues that balancing act, squeezing in beats from his up and coming peers, as well some from relative veterans of the scene. OH91, Kahn and Neek, and J.Beatz find themselves featuring alongside Rude Kid, Dot Rotten and Sir Spyro on an hour on a frenetic hour of music that never takes its eyes off the prize.
