In the music industry, artists often come with swathes of press releases and accolades attached to their every action. Often the cacophony of hype is so loud and dense the music itself can lose something along the way. None of these things apply to emerging London based producer Pris, about whom we’re pleased to admit we know refreshingly very little. Spearheading the launch of his new label Resin, Pris will shortly releasing his debut EP, ‘Unbeknown To Us’, a four tracker of unrelentingly focused industrial techno. Already receiving support from the likes of Blawan, Ben UFO and Sigha, it would appear Pris is blessed with a level of technical skill and nous that belies his meager experience. Roping him in to drop this week’s Hyp Mix, he delivered an unsurprisingly driving selection of techno from Britain and around Europe. Roping in cuts from Norman Nodge, Marcel Fengler, James Ruskin and Trilogy Tapes new boy, Eomac, this is 1 hour of music that refuses to take any prisoners whatsoever…
