Hyp 058: Hackman
Tweet
Hackman‘s journey through the differing sounds of the bass music scene mimics that of many a young jungle fan, who’ve gradually moved towards the the sounds of 4/4 through the ongoing explosion of the UK dance music scene over the past few years.
Originally producing drum and bass, the Leeds-to-London producer turned his hand to dubstep around 2005/6, and since then has made a name for himself through his UK funky and house music releases on labels like Ramp Recordings, PTN, and more recently Greco-Roman (the superb ‘Close’ EP was released this summer), with great support from the likes of Dusk & Blackdown, Brackles and Randomer.
His Hyp mix shakes out the great and good of the current house/bass scene, with tracks from Joonipah, George Fitzgerald, Seiji, Jay Weed, and a particularly stunning remix of Gerry Read from Canadian house man Kevin McPhee. Stream below, or download via our Soundcloud.
