Delving into the fertile pool of UK talent, Hyp 051 sees Wolverhampton-based collective Paper Tiger run through an exhaustive list of influences and current favourites.
An 8 piece live band taking strains from dubstep, broken beat, hip-hop and bass, this collective of creative minds have been causing some serious underground talk recently with support and props coming from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs and Radio 6’s Steve Lamaq, whilst sharing stages with the likes of The Bug, Rustie, Dam Funk, Gas Lamp Killer and Daedulus to name a few.
As well as being very gifted musicians and producers, turns out a few them are pretty handy selectors as well. Their contribution to mix series is as much nostalgic as it is an expansive who’s who of modern bass music, with tracks from Ghostface, Actress, The Neptunes, Radiohead, Wookie, Ikonika and the Paper Tiger crew themselves. We just love mixes like this basically. Stream below, or download via our Soundcloud.
