Hyp 034: Warlock
Tweet
Following Rag & Bone partner NoYeahNo’s Hyp mix for us earlier this year, we called up the mighty Warlock to bring through his customary heavy bass sound for this weeks mix.
Having been a figure on the capital’s bass seen since the mid-nineties, Jason Warlock thrives off the underground sounds of UK bass. Having released a steady string of low end anthems via his revered Rag & Bone imprint (home to Stagga, Squire of Gothos and Valta & Minkin), the original bass warrior tears through raves up and down the country as he continues to chase the high energy ambience of his beloved ’92 era hardcore.
Appearing at the reenergized Glade festival this year, Warlock will be bringing his straight up dancefloor vibes to the Overkill stage alongside the likes of Richard Devine, Eprom, Shitmat, Eskmo, Young Montana?, Broken Note and Loops Haunt – tickets are going fast so be sure to check out gladefestival.com for info and buy links.
The mix however, is typically tight. Taking in the great and good of the current crop of polyrhythmic acid-bass that we like to call UK bass, it’s an fast-paced journey through the sounds of a true underground soldier.
