YouTube Sessions: Kim Ann Foxman

Kim Ann Foxman shot to fame as the vocalist of acclaimed nu-disco group Hercules & Love Affair. Whilst she left the band some while ago her personal journey has seen her grow to become one of dance music’s finest, operating from her Firehouse imprint in Brooklyn and regularly performing at renowned clubs like Panorama Bar and Tel Aviv’s The Block.

Mainly focusing on house music, the Hawaii born artist builds on the nostalgic records of her youth to create her own dynamic sound. Her music and DJ sets combine soulful textures with the tougher sounds of Chicago, releasing quality records at her own pace and continuously seeking out creative collaborations.

Kim also delves into the fashion world, carrying a style that largely reflects her time in New York and collaborating with brands like Gucci, Dior Homme, Prada, and Adidas.

Finding time in her schedule, we asked Kim to share with us some of the tracks she likes to unwind to, with classic Severed Heads, Palmbomen II’s glowful melodies and the pioneering sounds of Patrick Howley all making the cut. Check below.

1. Severed Heads – We Have Come To Bless The House

One of my favourite severed heads tunes of all time! I also love the video.
