Swedish born Soulstress Fatima has enjoyed a wealth of achievement since appearing on the scene back in 2010, with her debut release the ‘Mind Travellin’ EP showcasing her vocal range and versatility to a well receiving audience. The following years have seen the first lady of Eglo lend her choral talents to a vast number of collaborative projects, including Shafiq Husayn (SA-RA), Dam Funk, FunkinEven, IG Culture, Ras G, Benji B, Floating Points, Teebs, VeeBeeO, Ras G and notably fronting the Floating Points ensemble, for whom Giles Peterson assigned as winners of his World Wide Awards back in 2010, for their ‘Live in Session’ performance at Maida Vale.
Her latest endeavour sees Fatima ally once again with fellow London based producer Flako for ‘Family/La Neta’, out December 2nd – another single from her hotly anticipated forthcoming album. Check out the video for ‘Family’ here. You can also catch Fatima and her live band, along with the rest of the Eglo crew and extended family at FABRICLIVE on Friday 24th Jan. More info here.
The velvet vocalist was kind enough to provide us with an insight into her internet activity this week, and in typically diverse fashion, included everything from an ODB Freestyle to favourite childhood film ‘Dunderklumpen’. Go forth…
