Our good friends at Civil Music are set to host Room 3 at fabric on Friday March 2, with a showcase of varied talent that takes in the great and good sounds of the current global bass scene.
Having had a sterling year in 2011 with well received releases from, amongst others, Om Unit, Darling Farah, Drums of Death, Starkey and more, the London-based label bring a solid line-up of dubstep, house, real electro and juke-jungle cross pollinations, as they set up shop in fabric’s intimate Room 3.
Philadelphian grime/bass man (and the curator of one of our finest Hyponik mixes) Starkey headlines, with electronic voodoo acid man Drums of Death celebrating the success of his current ‘Waves Trilogy’ project with some tightly-wound machine drum funk, ultimate dubstep warrior Reso takes a side swipe at the dance with his utterly inimitable heavy bass riddims, whilst newcomer to the label Kuhn builds on the dent that his recent ‘Slime Beach’ EP made on the scene with some juke/jungle business that’s catching all the right ears.
We have a bumper package of Civil Music vinyl to giveaway to two lucky winners, plus entry for each plus a friend – vinyl releases from each of the Civil artists performing on the night, covering:
Reso – ‘Ishimura’
Reso – ‘Valken’
Starkey – ‘Space Traitor Vol 1’
Starkey – ‘Space Traitor Vol 2’
Drums Of Death – ‘Red Waves’
Drums Of Death – ‘Black Waves’
Kuhn – ‘Slime Beach’ EP
Not bad eh? To be in with a chance to win all you have to do is answer the below question:
What was the title of Starkey’s sophomore album, released by Planet Mu in 2010?
*Competition closes March 1.
