The Bug: 10 Pressure classics

Kevin Martin, better known as The Bug, has been actively producing a range of avant-garde music for the last twenty years. Since his first album Tapping The Conversation in ’97, he’s released four albums and a string of EPs that have explored a world of underground space shapes, from hip hop, dubstep and dancehall to drone, ambient and metal.

His club night ‘PRESSURE’, set up in Berlin 2016 and named after his excellent LP in 2003, celebrates sound system culture, audio friction and full force volume, or as the flyer states “Dub-Dancehall-Grime-Dirt”, with previous guests including Terror Danjah, Equiknoxx, Kahn and Goth – Trad.

Ahead of Pressure’s debut at Village Underground this November, which features Goth-Trad, Grandmixxer and vocal sparring partners Flowdan, Killa P and Lady Chann, we asked The Bug to share with us ten sounds that define the event’s concept.

So “celebrate the bass, wind up yr waist, and get lost in the frequency waves. No lightweight ting!”

3. Rhythm & Sound ft Willi Williams – See Mi Yah
