Eliphino is making his debut on Hypercolour with ‘I Don’t Care/Understand’ out next Monday 9th September, and we have an exclusive stream for your listening pleasure.
Having cut his teeth with jams for Somethink Sounds and Giles Peterson’s Brownswood, Eliphino ( aka. Tom Wrankmore ) now finds himself making his bow on one of the country’s premier House music labels. Focussed on the dancefloor but with trademark melody and warmth, ‘I Don’t Care/Understand could only have been the work of its creator.
‘I Don’t Care’ rolls with a soft contemporary garage bounce as chopped vox yearningly implore atop. A perfect cut for sunrise or sunset, this one’s infectious yet in a delightfully subtle way that few others could manage with such aplomb.
‘Understand’ meanwhile is the more direct of the pair, although it still carries the same level of careful nuance. Vox play a key role again, but here they are more frantically treated and edited as they interplay with trance flavoured synths and key stabs.
Stream the tracks below ahead of their cross format release on 9th September.
