Otik channels dark garage and early dubstep on new EP, Acne Downs

Hefty breaks and scattergun vocal clips from an ascending producer.

This month Otik is stepping out with Acne Downs, his debut 12″ for Bristol label Durkle Disco – home to Lamont, OH91 and more. Following recent releases on Dusky’s 17 Steps imprint, Push & Run, and Hyponik favourites Infinite Machine, the London-based producer contorts the frameworks of past club movements – namely garage, dubstep and jungle – but with a distinctly contemporary outlook. The EP also comes backed with a dancefloor-primed remix from Bristol’s Caski.

Today we’re giving you the title track – the kind of sinister cut that could soundtrack a peak time basement club, or your charged journey there. Stream it below and pre-order the EP via Bleep ahead of release on November 18.
