Hear an unreleased version of Om Unit and Kromestar’s ‘Solar Cycle’

Forthcoming on the Cosmology Vol. 3 compilation.

Next month, Cosmic Bridge – the label run by Jim Coles, aka Om Unit – celebrates five years in operation with the third instalment in its Cosmology series. Cosmology Volume 3 holds ten cuts handpicked by Coles – including exclusive solo productions, collaborations and remixes of previous releases – and features 2016 Cosmic Bridge signees J:Kenzo, J(ay)A.D and TMSV, as well as Graphs, DJ Madd, and Coles himself.

For early Cosmic Bridge fans, the compilation includes a ‘Melody Mix’ of the label’s first ever release, Om Unit and Kromestar’s ‘Solar Cycle’. Where the original is primed for the club, the ‘Melody Mix’ looks to the heavens. Stream it in full below, and read on for some words from Coles on this special collection of tracks.

“Cosmology 3 for me is a bit of a marker for our label going from strength-to-strengh over the past 5 years. I’ve been curating all the music on the label, and designing the art myself, and together with the additional help of Mark Shelley at Sequence, we’ve managed to get some great music out to our fans, and support our camp even more as time has progressed.

Cosmic Bridge to me represents connecting the elements of ‘Earth’ and “Ether”, perhaps think of it all as “head in the clouds, feet on the ground” – Cosmology vol.3 is a continued statement of this musical vision, where I have chosen material from our artists that are referencing the synthscapes of classic ambient music, but also the roots vibe inspired by sound system cultures such as dubstep and jungle, with originality and a bit of rudeness to boot.

Cosmology Volume 3 is out December 2 on Cosmic Bridge. Order it via Bandcamp on digital and limited edition vinyl.
