Brighton bass label Donky Pitch are commemorating their tenth release with the compilation, We Didn’t Think We’d Make It This Far Vol.1
The 18 tracker, available exclusively via Band Camp, catalogs the label’s output thus far, as well as supplying several exclusive new tracks. Starting out as a club night in 2009, Donky Pitch the label began as an outlet for the productions of resident’s Slugabed and Ghost Mutt, before subsequently releasing music from Nino, 813, Keyboard Kid and ARP 101xElliot Yorke amongst others.
The compilation shows the label’s diversity, traversing a range of genres and tempos with some flair with highlights coming from the aforementioned artists as well as newer additions to the Donky Pitch family such as LiL Texas and Tokyo Hands. ‘Bruised’, by the latter producer, is a bubbling neon flecked synth jam which bursts into stuttering trap flavoured drums and rumbling sub. Available for exclusive free download below, its a good entry point into the rest of the release which can be found here. Enjoy.
