First Listen: Terrence Parker – ‘Unconditional’ (Crackazat Rework)

Swedish imprint Local Talk has fast become known as an outpost for nurturing talent. Releasing classics from artists like Kyodai, Luke Solomon, Atjazz and Soulphiction, the house label is also responsible for breaking through artists like HNNY and Crackazat, and it’s the latter figure who’s new remix EP is the latest dose of dancefloor damage in their extensive catalogue.

Hailing from Bristol, the young talent has risen from the warm up act for Floating Points to one of the freshest UK producers of colourful club jazz and electronica. Magic Touch sees him work a selection of label’s back catalogue for their edits series, picking out numbers from DJ Spinna, Deymare – 1990, Lay Far and more to put his signature stamp on.

It’s the rework of Terrence Parker’s ‘Unconditional‘ that takes our pick though, with Crackazat letting loose on Parker’s marching chords and adding a bounce to ensure we’re left with a proper hip shaker.

Magic Touch is out Friday 25 January on Local Talk.
