First Listen: Significant Other – ‘Delphic’ (SPE:C)

The Berlin-based label SPE:C (run by Darwin) has established itself as one that champions fresh new talent, making an indisputable commitment to give up-and-coming producers a chance to release on it’s very well received platform.

Having given Edeka, Decka and the Trans A.M duo their inaugural vinyl releases over the past few years, Significant Other joins the label for a 3-track EP entitled Triptan, described by the label as venturing between ‘hybrid steppers, stumbling techno and outer-worldly ambient’.

The track we have here today is called ‘Delphic’ and combines synthetic and organic sounds to create a unique sound you can’t quite put your finger on in the best way possible. Significant Other drives his spacey ambience sub bass movement and glitchy percussion that on the surface is a great club track but also rewards closer listening.

Triptan will be released on the 30th of April via SPE:C.
