First Listen: Shedbug – ‘Waouu’ (Lobster Theremin)

Shedbug brings true form on Timeframe.

A label well-versed in the waves that make dancefloors move, Lobster Theremin has assembled quite a reputation since 2013. From shimmering lo-fi and deep house to throbbing techno with all the breakbeat-y, acidic and industrial shades in between, the now sizeable back catalogue showcases a dazzling array of expertly crafted musical makings. Quickly becoming a regular fixture on the LT plates is Australian export, Shedbug who returns for a third round with his Timeframe EP.

Moving through the near teary-eyed melodies present across Destination Love EP on the main label, to gritty, skitz-o rave brought to the table with his most recent There’s Hope For You Yet EP via sublabel, LT-UNDR. The Salt Mines label chief feels most multi-faceted against the backdrop of Australian electro that has taken shape as of late.

Continuing to buck the trend, Shedbug brings true form on Timeframe, taking the electro-tinged format and unlocking new, intergalactic pastures. Giving a glimpse of how this sounds and feels, B2 ‘Waouu’ is as upfront in effect as its name would suggest. Matched to the phonetic ‘Waouu’ of the warbled bassline, Shedbug whips up crisp hi-hats and elastic kick patterns. Effortlessly gliding in and upwards with swirling siren-esque melody and heart-tickling rave-flecked arps, Shedbug’s next outing promises to arrive with freaky effect.

Shedbug’s Timeframe EP is coming 13th December via Lobster Theremin – Get It Here.
