The Manchester label kickstart 2020 with another weighty exercise in 130 bass control.
Ran by Manchester’s Hypho (81/Jelly Bean Farm) and Amadeo Sanchez (1/2 Xakra), Manuka records has been operating since 2018 with a mission to push the most obscure, cutting-edge sound, specialising in the darker tones of bass, techno, dubstep and grime.
With five releases under their belt, their growing influences spreads worldwide, counting Seattle dubstep producer Tony Rocky Horror and UK favourite Biome as close allies.
Their first release of 2020 offers another weighty exercise in 130bpm bass control, as Bristol based producer Pluralist takes control of the mix with four upfront riddims that serve a healthy slab of grade-a sub low pressure.
Whilst two of the tracks of Puralist’s Sanctions EP feature Rex Domino and Done, it’s his solo effort ‘Bussboy’ that generates the most rumble. Check it out in full below.
