Having released music via Talkin’ Loud, XL Recordings and Full Cycle Recordings, veteran of the scene DJ Die now runs business via his GutterFunk imprint. Releasing projects at the label’s own pace, GutterFunk has developed an identity outside of the constraints of the industry, continuously pushing innovative music that refuses to be boxed into a singular genre.
With past efforts by DJ Die, Addison Groove and Dismantle, the Bristol label’s newest addition is anonymous producer Nuff Pedals. The work of an already established artist within the electronic music realm, The Second EP follows up Pedals’ first outing on the label at the end of 2016, and sees the producer continue to combine the swing of UK funky and garage with jazzy licks and chest-rattlin’ subs.
Made up of four tracks, we pick out the cut with original don Maddslinky aka Zed Bias. Mashing up heavy bruk swagger and gliding squares into a dancefloor sweat, tuck in below.
The Second EP is out August 3 on GutterFunk.
