Having racked up a steady flow of releases on outlets like Mister Saturday Nights, Antinote, Technicolour and Opal Tapes over the past half decade, French producer Nathan Melja now channels his chi toward Amsterdam imprint Kalahari Oyster Cult, with killer club single ‘Synesthesia’.
Drawing its name from the physiological and psychological process that results in a confusion of one’s sensory perceptions, Melja’s skittish drums and bubbly synth work is exactly the kind of foggy techno we like, spilling out over the course of six minutes with a structure designed to shift energies on the haziest of dancefloors.
Backed with remixes from the dons Pariah and Anthony Naples, there’s really not much that could go wrong on this EP. It’s the latter artist’s effort who we turn our attention to today – as the New York native delivers a colder variation in his signature fuzzy fashion.
Synesthesia is out February 14th on Kalahari Oyster Cult.
