First Listen: Ireen Amnes – ‘8888’ (Metempsychosis Records)

“A hug from a stranger that doesn’t feel weird. Sharing a cab and sometimes that half. Getting lost amongst the crowd and the music. Realising the meaning of life together. Forgetting the meaning of life together. Moving as one, eyes closed.

The producers who wrote the music, the artists who drew the cover and the people behind this release, have all met through music. Meaningful connections can create something powerful on the other side of your life. Can you see these connections? How can you bring them to THƎOTHƎRSIDƎ?”

A note from the press release, THƎOTHƎRSIDƎ? is the latest various artist compilation from Metempsychosis Records, the record label ran by experimental live artist Flaminia and End Train.

Featuring tracks from Michael Wells, Tapefeed, Ossa di Mare and more, the record’s qualities continue to pursue the label’s heavy hitting style, with shadowy techno explorations and intense club frameworks at the foundation of each artist’s creation.

Today we premiere the work of London producer Ireen Amnes, who’s ‘8888’ contribution to the VA release operates in similar territory, as erratic components and red line signals fight to break out from underneath the darkness.

THƎOTHƎRSIDƎ? is out November 21 on Metempsychosis Records.
