UK trio Inner Zone debut on The Bricks with a hefty Alec Falconer rejig on the flip.
Since its beginnings in 2016, Anna Wall‘s label The Bricks has become a sure stop for well made, impactful tunes. Always with a story behind each release, Anna works closely with all artists featured. This type of close relationship speaks volumes for the deep-diving intricacy presented in the label’s output.
Known in London for a fair few years now, Inner Zone consists of three seasoned club goers, Alex Anderson, Rupes and Dr. Baird of Space Lab. Producing together for over five years, they now debut on The Bricks with their ‘JV Sports’ EP. Born out of dizzy late nights back in 2015, Inner Zone’s hardware based sounds dig up a broad specturm of reference points. From thick acid and juicy breaks, the essence of 90’s rave is present across the EP’s four tracks.
Fellow Londoner Alec Falconer has shown himself as a certain production wizard as of late. On the flip, he reworks Inner Zones’ ‘The Last Arpy’ feeling out his innate ear for smart rhythmic switch ups. Flipping the original completely on it’s head, Alec opts for a gritty breakbeat arrangement. Laced with bleepy inflections, the blissed out arpys of Inner Zone swirl in the high ranges. Check out and tune in below.
Inner Zone ‘JV Sports’ EP is out 11th December via The Bricks.
