South London boys Chris Watson and Chris Coupe have much more in common than their given name. Meeting at university, the pair quickly discovered their shared love for music arose from a similar journey of being influenced by their families to learn instruments at a young age.
Skip forward to today, and they’re just as likely to be found working behind the counter at Peckham’s Rye Wax as they are making dusty house riddims for labels like Toy Tonics, Banoffee Pies and Church.
One imprint they’ve become particularly tied to though is Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section INTL. First making noise on the platform back in 2015, their hazy club experiments have continued to help the label become one of the established leaders of Peckham’s ever impressive dance community.
Here they strike again with four-tracker Elephant Road. A collection of deep rolling psychedelic techno and sun drenched house, you can strut to the shuffle of ‘Contact (Underground Track)’ below.
Elephant Road is out June 28 on Rhythm Section INTL.
