First Listen: Dold – ‘Colliding Worlds’ (Blue Hour Music)

Swedish producer Dold, real name Patrick Eriksson, makes a debut on Luke Standing’s self-titled Blue Hour imprint as the first new artist to be invited to the platform.

Previously a label for Standing’s own catalogue, as well as a number of high profile remixes from artists such as Steffi, Answer Code Request and Mark Broom, Dold’s arrival marks the 11th release on the ever-growing Blue Hour catalogue.

The young Swedish talent, who runs his own imprint Arsenik alongside fellow producer Kuf, offers up a stunning collection of dance floor recordings that feel right at home on Blue Hour, fitting to the label’s qualities whilst furthering their development in adventurous club experiments. Made up of four tracks, Express Route was made in his Berlin studio, and offers a “breakbeat driven exploration of retro-futuristic dance music”.

Our personal highlight is EP closer, ‘Colliding Worlds’, in which Dold whirls round the planets of IDM, techno, and electro via a series of frantic bleeps and squelchy percussion. Listen in full below.

Express Route is out on both digital and physical formats on November 5.
