Hailing from the west coast of Wales, you might remember DJJ from 2015 standout single, ‘Just a lil‘, a straight up fun house anthem that was shortlisted for track of the year in our Hyponik awards.
Also one half of experimental grime outfit Island, DJJ’s music is often described as infectious and uncomplicated, leaning more towards an accessible style of dance music that defies genre and demographic.
Whilst his output so far has shown quality over quantity, the producer is clearly sitting on a wealth of material, with Soundcloud demos frequently popping up and guest mixes often comprising of purely his own material, (check back to the special celebratory mix he recorded for us a while back in preparation for his baby).
Now finding home on Brighton’s FatCat Records‘ new imprint FCR, DJJ returns with the forthcoming six tracker Yn Y Ty EP, which we’re told explores Chicago bump, techno and more random elements on top of his trademark jagged take on French house.
Ahead of its release we’re excited to premiere closing cut ‘Glas’, where soulful house flavours come ready for the fast lane with plenty of stomp!
The Yn Y Ty EP is out October 20 on FCR. Pre-order it here.
