First Listen: Chrissy – ‘Can’t You Feel It’ (Dansu Discs)

One of the US’s most respected selectors, Chrissy is known in dance music circles as being a real DJ’s DJ. He held down a residency at legendary Chicago institution Smartbar from 2015 – 2018 and can now be found regularly gracing the decks in the oldest queer club in San Fransico, The Stud. Known now for his brand of infectious house, disco and rave sounds, he has also more than proved his chops in the realms Jungle and Footwork.

This musical talent stretches far beyond the booth however. He has been releasing records since 2005 on notable labels including Super Rhythm Trax, Hypercolour, Nervous and Freerange. His latest offering, Plus Two, comes courtesy of UK based operation Dansu Discs. Following on from records by Interplanetary Criminal and X-Coast, his new EP is a bouncy, feel good affair that is firmly focused on the dance floor. Lots of bright popping synths, rolling drums and classic rave samples abound. He’s also enlisted the talents of Soundbwoy Killah and Denham Audio for two harder, more heads down remixes.

You can listen to the bubbling breaks and strings of A1 ‘Can’t You Feel It’ below and head over to Dansu Discs bandcamp page to secure your copy.
