The Electro Master returns to Scottish imprint Craigie Knowes.
With well over 100 releases under several aliases including Silicon Scally and Voice Stealer on such esteemed labels as Warp, Soma, Central Processing Unit, Playhouse and more, you would be forgiven for thinking that electro grand master Carl Finlow would be starting to wind down his work ethic. The 20/20 vision records co-founder has done more so far in his career than most artists manage in their entire lifetimes. Well, while you would be forgiven, you would also be dead wrong.
He’s just about to drop a fresh new record with Scottish crew Craigie Knowes, his third for the label. Landing at the start of march, Descent once again sees Finlow at the top of his game, effortlessly churning out four funky, rolling machine jams.
We’ve got the exclusive for the records opener, ‘Descent’, which partners cold pads, jittering synths and textures, with a rolling bass and classic electro percussion. All these elements are masterfully collated together by Finlow’s expert ear.
