First Listen: Aldrich – ‘You Have To Talk’ (Super Hexagon)

A weighty club burner best suited for the deepest corner of the dance.

Started in 2016, the Super Hexagon discography straddles leftfield techno, electro, and uncompromising club experiments all from promising UK producers.

Run by Winchester-born J.Wiltshire, and fellow Brit Alma Construct, who have released solo material on Oscillate Tracks and R&S respectively, it’s easy to see how the Super Hexagon formula has been refined to produce quality output so consistently.

Where SH001 explored alien experiments, and lush downtempo electro, Super Hexagon’s most recent release from FFT was a valiant nod to braindance, and early Aphex Twin. Its with this evolution in mind that we arrive at Ravaged Minds, the latest body of work for Super Hexagon from ambiguous producer Aldrich. Information about Aldrich is thin on the ground; his soundcloud has 6 followers, and this is his debut release, but it sounds far debut at all. Thick textures, and warm bassweight occupy Ravaged Minds, as Adlrich exercises ambient, breakbeat and broken techno all crammed into one impressive contribution.

Today we premiere ‘You Have To Talk’, a breaky affair cloaked in sub bass with a warm melody and glitchy AI vocals repeated throughout. It’s a weighty club burner best suited for the deepest corner of the dance, and you can get lost in it’s complex details below.

Ravaged Minds comes out August 19th 2019 via Super Hexagon
