Flying in from Ohio, USA for his first ever UK show, we are ecstatic to announce Metroplex legend James Johnson aka Plural as our headliner. A Detroit heavyweight, he has been smashing out tunes and performing since 1995 and has since played all over the World, bringing massive amounts of energy to his DJ sets and highly technical Live sets. His releases on over a dozen labels have garnered him the acclaim of the Techno elite, with support from Dave Clarke, Alan Oldham, Ben Sims, Paul Mac, etc.
REFLEC (Clergy, Lobster Theremin)
London heavyweight Reflec, has been quietly digging away into the darker shades of electronic music in the last decade. After releasing a host of rhythmically and melodically orientated tracks on the likes of Pacific Command & Lobster Theremin respectively, he has found his home on Mancunian output Clergy, headed up by friend and frequent collaborator Cleric, alongside some of the most exciting names in techno. Throughout their friendship, Reflec & Cleric have developed the Works Unit project, which combines dark atmospheres with rolling drums and basslines to produce emotive yet dancefloor ready heaters that have garnered support from some of techno’s biggest artists. The support has rolled on to shows at some of Europe’s most exciting venues including ://about blank, The White Hotel and Dude Club, as well as being a regular fixture at the long standing London after-hours, Jaded.
REEDALE RISE (Frustrated Funk)
Reedale Rise brings his acclaimed Live set to Natural Selection. Reedale Rise’s debut vinyl release was a deep techno cut on Edinburgh based label Common Dreams in 2015. This was followed up by two well received EPs on Holland’s longstanding bastion of electronic deepness, Frustrated Funk. From there he has gone on to work with a diverse labels including Boe Recordings, Where We Met, Emotions Electric, Childhood Intelligence and Spaecial. Through these releases his varied production styles have been flexed whilst always retaining a clear identity centred around melodic, emotional sounds.
PIP WILLIAMS (CPU)
1/3rd of London based Analogue Electro wizards – London Modular Alliance. Pip Williams has been a notable force in the London Electro scene for a number of years with a string of releases on acclaimed labels such as Central Processing Unit.
Natural Selection residents KODAH, FUNK ETHICS and DT, will be be bringing the most cutting-edge, underground electronic styles as usual throughout the event.
