Scratcha DVA, Impey, Truska, Henry Greenleaf
Continuing on our residency at Rye Wax, we call upon a number of our favourite steppas across the scene to ensure a proper heavyweight Xmas skank.
Scratcha DVA epitomises the distinctness of the UK underground. A stalwart of Kode 9’s always-on-point Hyperdub imprint, Scratcha has continuously broken down club formulas over his longstanding career with his alien club sounds and screwball rave experiments. You can guarantee his DJ sets come just as wonky.
Hyp favourite Impey has established a reputation as a key player of the new wave of producers creating some of the most exciting grime-leaning club constructions on the circuit since his emergence in 2014. With ties to notable imprints like Astral Black and Coyote Records, Impey’s latest bass ventures come via Ghost Notes Worldwide, the label he co-runs with O-Dessa.
Having released music on murky labels like Infinite Machine and Jelly Bean Affiliate, the halfstep-leaning club workouts of London based producer Truska come informed via the darkest edges of the club and make for serious bassweight pressure.
Bristol producer Henry Greenleaf is one of the most exciting newcomers to emerge from the UK bass scene. Introduced to us via close friend and Par Avion chief Agrippa, Henry’s signature sound design shines through in his vast array of techno, dubstep, footwork, jungle and beyond.
