For the fifth year running the Urban Nerds crew return with their bass-fuelled Carnival special. After 5 consecutive years of sell-out events they take over Shoreditch venue XOYO, for East London’s biggest Carnival warm-up party. Expect the standard revelry from Urban Nerds as they provide an exotic line-up covering dancehall, dubstep, garage, baile funk and everything in-between.
Jetting in to head-up XOYO’s main room are Munichs very own tropical-bass duo, Schlachthofbronx. Their distinctive grade of party-bass draws from a range of music spanning all corners of the globe including the Caribbean and South America, to ensure nothing but pure Carnival vibes. As well as releasing their ‘Nasty Bass’ ep on Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint earlier this year, the pair have been globetrotting on a regular basis supporting none other than Major Lazer, Buraka Som Sistema and M.I.A. Completing the line-up in Room One are the bass-meandering A1 Bassline, 18 year old rising star Mele, Urban Nerd residents Rattus Rattus & Klose One and upcoming trio Mista Men.
Curating Room Two are the vibrant and well respected reggae collective, Reggae Roast. They continue their tireless mission of spreading conscious roots music far and wide after successful showcases at Glastonbury, Fabric, Bestival and Outlook to name a few. Residents Exel & Moodie feature alongside special guests The Heatwave providing the Notting Hill soundtrack, expect a mix of ragga, dancehall, bashment, and other Carribean flavours.
