The Urbanears Scratch Poster

Turntablist technology goes next level with the Urbanears Scratch Poster.

Whilst scratching represents one of the more fundamental aspects of DJ culture, it’s one that has also been at the forefront of its technological advances in recent years. From Qbert’s endeavours with the QFO through to the game-changing advent of Serato and Traktor, turntablists the world over are constantly accelerating the traditional methods of their artform with cutting edge technology.

Step up Scandinavian audio heads Urbanears, whose recent efforts to promote their new DJ mixing app ‘Slussen’ involved a poster campaign around Copenhagen. Nothing unusual there, you say? Well the posters in question are 3D-printed, laser-engraved acrylic, functioning as interactive analogue interfaces that users can scratch, emulating an array of patterns and techniques.
