Innovative Japanese producer Yosi Horikawa recently collaborated with visual artist Florence To for a stunning live performance in France, a clip of which has been uploaded to Vimeo.
The minute and a half long clip shows To‘s minimal monochromatic lines and shapes being soundtracked by one of Horikawa’s typically unique ‘found sound’ constructed beats, to mesmeric and beautiful effect. A stark contrast to the lasers and flashing lights employed by many electronic acts, the visuals are the perfect accompaniment to the producer’s understated music. Horikawa, who spoke to Hyponik a few months back, released his debut LP ‘Vapors’ earlier in the year and here collaborates with To, who in the past has worked with the likes of Shigeto and Glasgow’s Sub Club. There’s no word yet on whether or not To and Horikawa will collaborate on further performances, although in the meantime you can watch the clip of their show in France below.
