Rewind 4Ever: The History Of UK Garage

A new documentary chronicles the rise, fall and resurrection of UK Garage.

Few dance music genres have experienced the highs and lows of UK Garage. A sound born in the London underground, it went on to take over the national charts for the tail end of the 90s and early noughties, before losing commercial favour and heading back into relative obscurity. The last five years have witnessed the resurrection of the sound in both the clubs and on radio, aligning itself with the dubstep explosion and house renaissance in the mainstream and attracting a whole new generation of followers in the underground.

‘Rewind 4Ever’ is a documentary charting this turbulent history and the genre’s unparalleled influence on today’s dance music scene, with contributions from Garage luminaries such as Todd Edwards, Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown, Grant Nelson, Norris ‘Da Boss’ Windross, MC Creed, Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont, Scott Garcia, Sticky, Sunship and Artful Dodger. Released online July 15th, you can watch the trailer below.
