Red Bull Music Academy have announced information about their annual party at the Notting Hill Carnival.
Taking place on Monday 26th August, the party returns to its traditional site under the Westway on the corner of Portobello and Acklam Road. Veteran Reggae selector and carnival staple David ‘Ramjam’ Rodigan heads up the bill, bringing with him Bob Marley’s children Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, Stephen ‘Ragga’ Marley, Julian Marley and Joseph Marley ( a.k.a. Jo Mersa ). They will be lining up alongside fellow Jamaican artists Wayne Marshall, Christopher Ellis and Black Am I.
Joining them for Carnival exclusive sets will be everyone’s favourite British brotherly production duo, Disclosure, garage pioneers MJ Cole and Wookie, who play b2b, and Red Bull Music Academy alumni T.Williams, XXXY and Nightwave, who plays with Rinse FM’s Eclair Fifi.
As usual tickets for the event, which has become one of the highlights of Carnival, are available only by a ballot, which runs from 10am Monday 12th August until 5pm Friday 16th August. In addition to this party, Red Bull have announced details of another event at Nottingham Carnival. Full information of the party, which features Breach, Throwing Snow and Channel One, can be found here.
