Glasgow-based label Numbers are set to release Pierre’s Pfantasy Club Mystery Girl (Set Me Free) this Monday (8th August), featuring a devastating remix from Seiji on the flip.
Having acquired the license to the track a few years ago, Numbers release this example of Pierre’s pioneering body of work on a limited 12″ and digital format. The release is supported by a quality remix from Seiji, which was no mean feat considering he had no parts from the original to work with, this ‘bassrub’ will appeal to the full spectrum of UK bass heads. From the late 80s archives through to 2011, this release reinstates the fact that “house music will never die.”
Pierre’s contribution to laying the foundations of house music, alongside Spanky and Marshall Jefferson are widely considered as the most significant innovations since the birth of rock n roll. As the guys over at Numbers say “If we were ever asked to compile a Chicago top ten then this would be in it, it’s always a pleasure for us to hear it in the club and we hope you enjoy as much we do.”
