Broken and Uneven have announced full lineup details for the second installment of their event series The Hydra.
Encompassing 18 events between 24th August and New Years Day 2014, this year’s series of ‘parties for a nightclub that doesn’t exist’ feature strong line ups that promise to continue last year’s strong start. Kicking off with an August Bank Holiday double header, The Hydra decamps to Brixton’s Electric for a Detroit Techno special in partnership with Blueprint, with seminal figures Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills and Robert Hood all in attendance. The following evening, 25th August, sees Gerd Janson’s Running Back imprint make their bow for The Hydra at Shoreditch’s Village Underground, with the label boss featuring alongside Tiger & Woods and John Talabot.
Highlights from later in the series include the London debut of Detroit house supergroup 3 Chairs ( composed of Theo Parrish, Rick Wilhite, Moodymann and Marcellus Pittmann ) on 27th September at Vauxhall’s Fire, whilst October 5th sees Electric Minds celebrating their birthday at Studio Spaces with Move D, Kassem Mosse and Prosumer all headlining. Derrick May heads up the bill for R&S‘ 30th anniversary celebrations the following night at Village Underground, where he is joined by Space Dimension Controller and dBridge.
With full details of the series, which also incorporates showcases from Hyperdub, BLOC, Dial Records, Ninja Tune and Karenn’s ( Blawan & Pariah ) label She Works The Long Nights, featured below, it would appear tickets for the events should be snapped up sooner rather than later.
