‘All Ears’, a film about the LA ‘beat’ scene is to have its UK premiere in Peckham this Sunday 13th October.
Directed by Gus Sutherland, the film looks at the labels, artists and events that have played a pivotal role in shaping the highly influential scene. Including interviews with the likes of Ras G, DJ Nobody, Kutmah and Diaba$e, the film also focuses on the large influence Madlib and the late J-Dilla have over the scene.
The screening will be hosted at the back room cinema of The Montpellier pub in Peckham at 7.30pm, with a Q+A with Sutherland, Kutmah, Mr.Beatnick and Laurent Fintoni being held afterwards. Several DJ’s will be spinning before and after the screening, with tickets costing a very reasonable £3.50. This screening is the first of several, with one a day on the 14th to the 16th and more between the 20th and 23rd. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis on the day, although those wishing to attend would be advised to arrive in advance due to the cinemas capacity being approximately 30 people.
