Watch The Video For Slackk’s Forthcoming Local Action Release

The Liverpudlian producer returns to Local Action with the ‘Failed Gods’ EP.

April’s ‘Minor Triads’ EP found Paul Lynch, aka Slackk, putting a mystical and instrument-heavy flex on a clutch of organic grime derivations, released through the trailblazing Unknown to the Unknown stables. Lynch retains the air of mysticism on the ‘Failed Gods’ EP, a return to Tom Lea’s Local Action imprint, following his 2012 ‘Raw Missions’ 12″.

With an as yet unconfirmed release date, the first taste of the EP comes with this video for two of the tracks. ‘Silk Robe’ is an opiate haze, all muted snare rolls, woozy ambience and a lead synth that speaks of Eastern promise. ‘Room Made Vague’ is altogether more sinister, its off-kilter melodics binded with faltering drums and tumbling percussive treatment. The video itself is a fitting accompaniment, a sequence of peacock spiders performing their dazzling mating dance.

Slackk is also offering a free download of the Twin Peaks-inspired death march ‘Laura Palmer’ – stream and DL below.
