Watch A New Documentary Short Featuring Happa

A new documentary follows the 16 year old as he tackles the early stages of his career

Resident Advisor in collaboration with PUMA have released the second addition to their FastForward video series. The episode follows rising 16 year old producer Happa, aka Samir Alikhanizadeh, as he begins to find his feet in the music world.

The documentary filmed across Leeds, Milan and London centres on his young age – being a minor, an adult must accompany him to all of his gigs. Samir still lives with his family and attends a music college in Leeds. It also reveals that he suffers from Crohn’s disease, a debilitating illness that looms over his life but afforded him the time at home to develop his brutal signature sound.

The video also features BBC Radio 6 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs who tells how she became familiar with Samir and played her part in a chain of events that helped kick-start his career. Last week he announced PT/5 Records, a label he’s starting alongside Al Gill whose first release has remixes from Truss and Shifted.
