Following their trip to the Maunsell Sea Forts with South London beat-maker and R&S affiliate Paul White, Bonafide TV continue to explore the sonic-art of field recording and the culture of sound exploration with some of the world’s finest electronic producers, this time recruiting Ninja Tune’s very own Ryan Hunn, aka Illum Sphere.
In collaboration with Shure microphones, the premise is simple – find a unique location, arm a musician with a Shure Mv88 MOTIV microphone, and leave them to search for sound.
For episode 2 of Field Trips, Bonafide TV took Illum Sphere to Aldershot Raceway.
Confessing he hadn’t previously delved deep into the world of field recordings, the Hoya:Hoya founder set in search of finding as much sonic treasure as he could to a backdrop of cars smashing into each other and heavy machinery.
