25 minutes of modular magic by the Pacific Ocean.
Created in support of the upcoming album of the same name, Sunergy is a filmic combination of the talents of filmmaker Sean Helfritsch, electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani, and composer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, who released the excellent EARS earlier this year.
Smith and Ciani first met as neighbours in Bolina, California, instantly bonding over a shared love of electronic music and their passion for the Buchla synthesiser – a friendship which has culminated in Sunergy, the 13th volume in New York label RVNG Intl.’s FRKWYS series.
The soundtrack to Sunergy, provided by Ciani and Smith, is a vibrant, synth-laden odyssey, and is the only sound accompanying the film – allowing the creative processes documented across its 25 minutes to speak entirely for themselves. Watch it in full below.
Sunergy is out September 16 via RVNG Intl., get your copy here.
